Premier League Betting Predictions – Game Week 22
This weekend there are ten cracking Premier League matches taking place and I’ve previewed my two best bets for the weekend’s fixtures below. The game of the weekend takes place at the Etihad Stadium as the Premier League champions Manchester City host Arsenal on Sunday in what should be an excellent match. We are also treated to Monday Night Football as West Brom under their new manager Tony Pulis travel to Goodison Park in a crucial game for both the Baggies and Everton. All in all this weekend should deliver some entertaining fixtures and hopefully I can make you some money.
Tottenham v Sunderland
Tottenham face Sunderland at White Hart Lane on Saturday and it’s not the most appealing game however it’s a good game from a betting perspective in my opinion. Mauricio Pochettino’s side come into this match in good form despite losing their latest match against Crystal Palace. Spurs are 6th in the league table and are just three points behind Manchester United who sit in fourth position. On the other hand Sunderland are 16th in the table despite losing the same amount of games as Tottenham this campaign. Sunderland are struggling to find the back of the net as they have no prolific striker in the squad and that must be a priority in January, they’ve scored just 18 goals this season, only Aston Villa have scored fewer.
A Tottenham clean sheet can be backed at a very generous 7/5 and Sunderland have failed to score in six of their ten matches away from the Stadium of Light this season. Tottenham are injury free at the back for the first time this season therefore I’m more than happy to oppose a Sunderland side that are struggling to score.
Newcastle v Southampton
The late kick off on Sunday takes place at St. James’ park as Newcastle United host Southampton. Newcastle still remain mangerless despite Alan Pardew leaving for Crystal Palace a number of weeks ago. After recording just one win in their last eight games in all competitions Newcastle United are now 10th in the table and will be keen to return to winning ways however it won’t be easy against the Saints. Southampton are 3rd in the Premier League table which is astonishing when you consider they lost many big name players during the summer as well as their manager. They’ve won four of their last five Premier League matches including a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, confidence must be high amongst the squad.
The recommended bet for this match is Moussa Sissoko to win the man of the match award, he is by far Newcastle’s best player and he’s been named as the man of the match on one occasion already this season. Goals are important in this market and Sissoko always looks likely to score and create chances.
