    Wimbledon 2014 Betting Tips – M.Raonic v N.Kyrgios

Yesterday we saw the shock of the tournament where the 19 year old Aussie Nick Kyrgios beat 14 time grand slam champion Rafael Nadal to reach the quarter final of Wimbledon. After the match Kyrgios said he was overwhelmed with happiness and deservedly so after what must have been the performance of his short career so far which has led to him reaching the quarter final, this is some achievement for a 19 year old playing in his first Wimbledon.

    M.Raonic v N.Kyrgios – 02/07/2014 15:30PM
In the next round Kyrgios faces the big serving Milos Raonic which can be viewed live on Bet365. Unsurprisingly the world number nine Raonic is the 1.44 favourite to win this match which in my opinion is a great price. Raonic now has a wealth of experience on the ATP Tour and at grand slam level, he has won 27 of his 41 matches in grand slams. Compare this with Kyrgios who has limited experience in Grand Slams, his fitness maybe an issue, young players and those with little experience in the longer games tend to struggle. Raonic did face the promising Australian in the first round of the French Open, Raonic won that meeting comfortably in straight sets.

Whilst Kyrgios is in great form Raonic is a very strong opponent who has been playing some very good tennis of his own. He comes into this week after some great results on clay (His least favourite surface). He reached the semi-final in Rome before losing to Djokovic who he pushed to three sets, he also reached the quarter final of the French Open where he beat the likes of Simon, Granollers and Vesely before losing to the world number two Novak Djokovic. The Canadian has carried his good form into the grass court season. He has looked extremely impressive in the opening four rounds, Raonic managed to beat Ebden, Sock and Kubot without the loss of a set before facing Nishikori in the 4th round and again Raonic was excellent beating Nishikori three sets to one.

So what is the recommended bet? Whilst 1.44 is a good bet in my opinion it is not the kind of odds we are looking for. I much prefer the Raonic 3-0 victory at odds of 2/1 with Bet365. Raonic has won three of his four matches in this tournament in straight sets and he also recently beat the Aussie in straight sets at the French Open.
