Premier League Betting Tips Free – Week 16
The Premier League table is finally starting to take shape however West Ham are currently fourth in the table and have a very winnable match against Leicester City at Upton Park on Saturday, who would of thought they’d be inside the Champions League places at this stage of the season. One thing many people did predict is that Chelsea would be at the top of the table and Jose Mourinho’s side travel to the Britannia Stadium on Monday night as Chelsea look to extend their lead at the top. The fixture of the weekend features Liverpool and Arsenal, and that match could really define both sides season after poor starts to the campaign.
Man City v Crystal Palace
The early kick off on Saturday features the Premier League champions Manchester City and Crystal Palace, the match is taking place at the Etihad Stadium where Manuel Pellegrini’s side are usually so dominant. Manchester City are second in the table and three points behind top of the table Chelsea, City’s recent form has been impressive, they’ve won seven consecutive games and that includes excellent victories over Bayern Munich and AS Roma to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. On the other hand Crystal Palace’s form has been poor, they are relegation candidates in my opinion and have won just one of their previous ten Premier League matches. However Palace have performed well recently, they have drew with Stoke City, Tottenham and Swansea City, and this does suggest that they’re not an awful side.
My recommended bet for this match is both teams to score, this can be backed at 2.15 with Coral. Personally I think this is a very generous price, Neil Warnock has turned Crystal Palace into a very attacking side, they have scored 19 goals so far this campaign and no side in the bottom half of the table have scored more goals. Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha have been particularly impressive causing their opponents many problems and both players are expected to start at the weekend. It should be noted that Crystal Palace have scored in five of their eight away matches this season and that includes goals at The Emirates and Goodison Park. You’d definitely expect Manchester City to score in this match, they’ve scored 33 goals this season. Admittedly City are without Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko but Crystal Palace are hardly rock solid defensively, Neil Warnock’s side have kept just one clean sheet away from home this campaign.
Newcastle v Sunderland
The Tyne-Wear derby takes place on Sunday at St James’ Park and Newcastle will be looking to continue their recent run of form. Alan Pardew and his Newcastle side are now 8th in the table, seven points above their rivals Sunderland who sit in 15th position. After a disappointing start to the campaign Newcastle have won six of their last nine matches in the Premier League. Today’s opponents Sunderland have had a steady start to the season although they have drew far too many matches, Gus Poyet’s side drew ten matches which is three more than any other side.
This is a tough game to call as I feel Newcastle have over performed in recent weeks, they have simply took their chances. In my opinion the best bet is under 2.5 goals, Newcastle have scored 18 goals this season whilst Sunderland have scored 14, thus suggesting that neither side are prolific. Neither team has an excellent goalscorer in the ranks which is why this is a brilliant bet at odds of 1.84.
