Premier League Betting Tips Week 14
During the week we witnessed some excellent Premier League football and landed a decent 2.8 winner as Aston Villa beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Anyway onto this weeks action, we are in for a treat this weekend with five of the ten matches being televised. The title favourites Chelsea travel to St James Park to face Newcastle and their main title rivals Manchester City have a tricky home fixture against Roberto Martinez’s Everton.
West Ham v Swansea
On Sunday, West Ham face Swansea at Upton Park, it can be viewed from 1:30pm on Sky Sports! Both sides have had superb starts to the season, West Ham are in 5th position just one point behind Manchester United after Sam Allardyce made some excellent signings in the Summer. On the other hand Swansea City are seventh in the table just two points behind West Ham, Wilfried Bony has been excellent for the Welsh side this campaign. Alexandre Song and Diafri Sakho are both expected to return for West Ham whilst Swansea are without defenders Neil Taylor and Federico Fernandez.
So far this season West Ham have been excellent and I expect that to continue, they’ve won four of their opening seven home matches and Swansea have been poor on the road. Garry Monks side have won just one of their seven away matches in all competitions this season. Finally West Ham have won their last two home matches against Swansea City and odds of 2.45 on a West Ham win are on the generous side in my opinion.
Southampton v Manchester United
On Monday evening, third plays fourth in the Premier League at St Mary’s Stadium. Southampton have struggled as of late after a promising start to the season, they drew against Aston Villa and recently lost against Man City and Arsenal. On the other hand Manchester United have started to hit some form, they’ve won their last five games which has lifted them into the top four, a victory on Monday evening would move them into 3rd position. Louis Van Gaal’s side still have a number of injuries, Luke Shaw, Rafael, Phil Jones and more notably Angel Di Maria are out for this encounter however United captain Wayne Rooney is expected to return. Southampton are expected to have no new injury concerns with Morgan Schneiderlin likely to return after missing Southampton’s game against Arsenal.
I’m expecting a high scoring match between these two and over 2.5 goals is a very big price at 1.9 with Bet365 in my opinion. Nine of United’s 14 games this season have finished over 2.5 goals and four of Southampton seven home matches have finished with over 2.5 goals. Man United are defensively fragile and Southampton are very strong going forward. Ronald Koeman’s side recently showed against Man City that they are not that strong at the back and United can expose that with the likes of Van persie and Wayne Rooney up front.
